Christians are not immune to the challenges of life! Challenges and obstacles come in a variety of forms, and at times can overwhelm us.
For pastors or church leaders, the challenges can be especially demanding. I've been a Lutheran pastor for over 25 years and have heard so many stories of difficulties, systems breakdown, and dysfunction that has caused church leaders many heart aches, and have caused pastors to want to leave the church, or worse yet, to leave the ministry.
The good news is that there is a solution!
Transition Life Coaching focuses on personal vision, health, and solution based strategies. I specialize in pastors and church leaders going through transition and change because it is during challenging times that it is important to have someone walk beside you. God does not want you to face life's challenges alone!
It's my conviction that change is different from transition. Change is external; it's what happens to us, and is often beyond our control. Transition, on the other hand, is internal. Transition is how we personally react to the changes of life. For pastors and church leaders, healthy internal traisition is essential, but is very difficult to find!
Transition Life Coaching is a specific way to work through your fears, obstacles, and challenges to help you clarify God's vision for your future. Transition Life Coaching helps you identify and implement behaviors that will lead you toward accomplishing that vision through specific Action Plans that will lead to a greater fulfillment in life. You can move forward with real hope and new meaning!
As a Lutheran pastor for over 25 years, I've worked with many people through the transitions in life. My focus now (besides serving as a Lead Pastor) is to work with pastors and church leaders through the difficult changes and transitions that many of them are facing. I have been trained as a Life Coach and coach and lead out of personal experience.
There is a solution, and it's up to you! Find out in these pages about skills and actions needed to get through your challenges in a healthy way and get on to a much more fulfilling life and ministry.
Quit, Camp or Climb: The Choice is Yours.
Change can seem like a major obstacle. You might see a change in your life like a mountain of challenge that can, at times, seem insurmountable.
When that happens you might have one of three reactions:
You might become a "quitter" if the challenge is too great. You just shut down and become depressed. You feel like quitting your pastorate and driving school bus.
Or you might become a "camper" and never make progress, and never deal with the challenge. You feel that at least you have a job, but you hate it.
Or you might become a "climber" and seize the challenge, put one foot forward, and then the next, and make progress one step at a time.
Which one are you?
Better yet, which one do you want to become?
I work with pastors and church leaders through a three stage transition process. First, we identify the core issues in the change in your life. Second, we work on your personal vision and values. Third, we identify your most important “Life Account Actions” and set behaviorally achievable goals. You will begin an internal transition for experiencing success as you attain the life that you really want.
Remember this: The choice is in your hands. You can either let life happen to you or you can make life happen for you. You don’t have to undergo the transition alone. Together we can accomplish the goals you've always wanted to achieve!
