Frequently Asked Questions
How is coaching different from therapy or counseling?
Therapy and counseling are focused on finding the cause of a feeling or behavior that is based on exploring events from your past. In a sense, it answers the "why" of how you're feeling or behaving. Coaching, on the other hand, takes the past into account, but focuses rather on the future, rather than the past. It is future solution based, rather than past problem based. Therapy and counseling resolve issues, while coaching creates solutions. It is my goal to help you recognize the life that you were meant to live, and then help you find ways to live that life with passion and purpose.
What are the outcomes of coaching?
- You will become clear about your vision and values, which will help drive future behavior and decisions.
- You will release beliefs that limit your life by being clear about where you are, where you want to be, and how to close that gap by taking one step at a time toward the future you want.
- You will live even more of a meaningful life because you are working towards goals that you create. I will be there as a coach and supporter while you accomplish those goals.
- If you stay with coaching long enough you will begin to increase wellness in all aspects of your life so you can move toward your highest potential.
How often do we meet?
We will talk on the phone 2-3 times every month. The Basic Program is 2 times per month with a 4 month minimum. The Fast Track program is 3 times per month with a 3 month minimum. I will answer up to 4 emails every week. You also receive the Monday Motivator, which is a weekly motivational newsletter of books and articles I have been reading.
Why hire me as your Transition Life Coach?
- because you're stuck and need a new direction in life
- because you want to personally grow and produce behavioral results in your life
- because you've been through loss and want to get your feet back on the ground
- because you want to establish balance between work, home, and family
- because of my extensive personal and professional background and history in dealing with people in transition
When does coaching end?
That all depends on you. Most people who are making progress choose to continue, or they take a few months off and then engage again to fulfill more Life Account Action Plans. Again, it's all up to you.
